This is the report of a study by the Pew Internet and American Life Project. 'Half (48%) of tech users need help from others in getting new devices and services to work, and many experience tech outages when there is a glitch with their home internet connection, computer, or cell phone. Coping with these failures is a hassle for many tech users and helps to distance them from technology use.'

To the long list of Palestinian woes, add to it a wall of complexity Israel has built to restrain growth of the Internet and local telecommunications sector. The blockade of Gaza and travel restrictions within the West Bank are well known – the security walls are hard to miss. Less obvious are bureaucratic barriers to trade that prevent development of the information infrastructure and, by extension, an open and modern economy.
